One of the best ways to increase your Minecraft Server's popularity is by adding it to major Minecraft voting sites such as Minecraft-MP, TopMinecraftServers, and many others. These sites allow players to vote for your Minecraft Server every 12 to 24 hours depending on the site. The more votes your server has, the higher it will rank, which will allow your server to gain more visibility among new players looking for servers to play on.

The best way to encourage players to vote for your server is by offering them a reward for voting. After all, who wants to visit a random voting site to give a vote to a Minecraft Server on a daily basis?! This is where Votifier (NuVotifier) comes into the frame. This plugin allows the server to track the players who voted for the server for you in order to reward them accordingly.

Continuing that, in this tutorial we will guide you through the entire process of installing Votifier (NuVotifier) and configuring it to your Minecraft Server. The plugin doesn't require much experience to configure and is very easy to install.

Installing Votifier (NuVotifier)

Before proceeding any further with the tutorial, we recommend you install Votifier (NuVotifier) from the SpigotMC marketplace at https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/nuvotifier.13449/ and make sure that it is compatible with your server type and version.

1. Log in to your MCServerHost dashboard, and stop your server in order to avoid any type of error while installing the plugin into your server.

2. Go to the file manager, install the NuVotifier plugin into your ‘plugins’ folder, and restart your server in order to let the plugin to create its configuration files on the server.

3. On restarting, the plugin will create its configuration file in the 'plugins' folder, which we have to configure in order for the plugin to work properly.

Allocating an Additional Port

Votifier requires an extra port to function because it needs a dedicated channel to handle vote traffic separately from the usual game traffic. To create an extra port, follow the steps given below -

1. Navigate to the Dashboard and find the 'Network Section'. This is usually located at the right end of the dashboard, where it shows the IP and port of your server.

2. Click the '+' (plus) button next to the 'Extra Ports' heading. This will request and allocate an additional port for your server.

Common Issues

Not Receiving Rewards After Voting - Votifier itself only listens for votes; it doesn’t handle rewards. You will need a separate reward plugin to give items, money, or perks to players after they vote. Some of the popular choices include - VotingPlugin, SuperbVote, and many others. How to Check if Votifier (NuVotifier) is Working Properly - To check the functionality of the plugin that you recently installed, you can visit a Votifier Tester at https://mctools.org/votifier-tester/ to check if it is working correctly.

Conclusion

Setting up Votifier (NuVotifier) on your Minecraft Server is a great way to increase your server engagement and boost its visibility to new players. By using the plugin, you can easily create a win-win situation where the players will get great rewards for voting, and your server will get increased visibility for it.
